Pentair (Haffmans BV) Venlo Sea Freight & Air Freight
At Seacon Logistics, we are very happy with our clients, which is why we're keen to share stories of great collaborations. We spoke to: Pieter Reutelingsperger, purchasing manager at Pentair (Haffmans BV) in Venlo.
Haffmans BV started in 1947 as a small family company. They are now part of the listed Pentair group and active in the beverage, food and biogas industry and the industrial gases market in more than 150 countries worldwide.
From Venlo they supply quality control equipment, microfiltration, biogas upgrading and CO2 recovery systems. As a specialist in the area of CO2 and O2 management solutions, they also help customers reduce their CO2 footprint and energy costs.

“Our collaboration with Seacon Logistics goes back decades,” Pieter Reutelingsperger begins his narrative. “I know Seacon from my previous employer. I was so happy with the collaboration that I asked them if they could help Pentair too. That got the ball rolling. We work together with Seacon weekly to biweekly to transport complete projects to our customers. They organise door-to-door export activities for us and arranges every detail involved in this process. On top of that, they also regularly load some of our projects directly from suppliers, which gets the product to the final destination cheaper, smarter and faster.”
“Seacon shipped our first biogas installation from Venlo to America. A very prestigious project whereby we collaborated with their customs department to avoid potential delays as much as possible and minimise import costs. We very much like that Seacon proactively contributes to thinking of custom solutions for our logistical challenges. Logistics companies are often strong in one specific region or one continent, but Seacon has such a sophisticated global network that they take care of the whole supply chain for us. There aren’t many shippers that can do that,” says Pieter.
“Aside from Sea Freight, we use the Air Freight solutions from Seacon about once a month, on average. They look at how our products can be organised most optimally for transport from A to B. For instance, they transport a portion of our imports, varying from FCL to LCL and parcel, via multimodal transport such as road, rail and barge.”

Another advantage for us is that we are both based in Venlo and started as family businesses that have the same entrepreneurial culture.”
